Publisher Kongregate has teamed up with indie developer Double Stallion to develop Speed Brawl, a anime-inspired 2D combat racer that's going to be released this Summer for the PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
Here's an overview from the press release we were sent:
Speed Brawl will take you on a flash-grenade explosion of lightning-quick combat through the dank streets of a dystopian London in an all-out bloodsport. Filled with armored brutes, vicious aliens, and devilish bosses, the world of Speed Brawl captures the humor and over-the-top action of '80s cult classic cinema.
The fast and hard-hitting combat in Speed Brawl will force you to maintain momentum while judiciously managing the available energy used to unleash powerful special moves. Upgrade and customize their tag-team of fighters through the acquisition of equipment and unlocking new and improved skills.
The campaign can be played as a single or cooperative multiplayer experience the whole way through, and you can race with friends for the best time. The environment is furnished with a collection of physics-based contraptions and interactive objects like poles, walls, and boost pads that you can use to dispatch enemies in new and flashy ways.
