Anno 117: Pax Romana’s long-awaited demo is now live on PC for a limited time, giving us a look at the early parts of the game, played in sandbox mode, across both the region of Latium and Albion.
Available for two whole weeks, until September 16, it allows us to start an unlimited number of savegames but limits each of them to one hour of actual playtime.

Anno 117: Pax Romana’s PC demo focuses on the first two population tiers in each of its regions, allowing us to construct all of their buildings. In addition, we’ll also get to settle new islands and engage with its research system.
Although we will meet and interact with NPCs, proving our chops as a military commander will have to wait until the full game launches. Furthermore, Anno 117’s demo only lets us tinker with “a limited selection of items to use in your villa and ships.”
The demo is only playable in single-player and won’t let us select our AI opponents, something we’ll be able to customize in the full version, which also includes both PvP and co-op multiplayer modes.
Saving is also not possible, although, with playthroughs limited to a single hour, that may not be a massive issue. On the flip side we do get to pick our starting province.
Anyone interested in trying their hand at governing can download Anno 117: Pax Romana’s PC demo from Steam, the Epic Games Store, or Ubisoft Connect. It is worth noting that you’ll need to set aside a whopping 93 GB for the installation.
The latest entry in the series travels further into the past than any of its predecessors, letting us decide both the fate of the Roman Empire and that of the people of Albion, who can be encouraged to retain their traditions or become romanized.
Anno 117: Pax Romana’s full version is slated to launch on November 13, 2025, when it arrives on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
