After making a name for itself while exploring the medieval and early modern periods of history before venturing into both the near and far future, Anno 117: Pax Romana’s release date sees Ubisoft’s acclaimed city builder series looking further back into the past, to a time it has yet to bring into its spotlight.
Putting us in the shoes of a fledgling Roman governor, Anno 117 tasks us with growing the empire’s influence across both its heartlands and those of the Celts, all while managing increasingly complex production chains, military forces, as well as our relationship with both local figures and the emperor himself.
Anno 117: Pax Romana Release Date
Barring any unforeseen delays, Anno 117: Pax Romana’s release date is currently slated to occur on November 13, 2025.

Anno 117: Pax Romana Gameplay
Developed using Ubisoft Mainz’s own Empire Engine, Anno 117: Pax Romana promises a gameplay experience that should be familiar to anyone who’s spent some time with the series in the past, only with much more potent technology powering it.
Its main focus falls on the cities you build and the people living in them. Setting up and maintaining production chains so that a steady stream of resources enters your storage is how you keep everyone happy and things from falling apart.
Citizens of different tiers have multiple needs that you, as a governor, need to strive to fulfill, earning bonuses that help your city advance.
When Anno 117: Pax Romana’s release date comes around, we’ll not only have to build glorious Roman cities in the province of Latium, but also tame the wilds of Albion and decide the fate of the Celts.
As per series tradition, both regions are comprised of several islands, each with its own assortment of exploitable resources that you’ll want to claim before your competitors. Setting up trade routes is how you ensure these resources reach their intended targets, but an unprotected trade ship is easy prey for enemy ships.
If Latium resembles a more traditional playthrough, Albion’s marshes offer an additional challenge. Useful to several production chains, they also block you from constructing houses and other structures.
This ties into how the Celts can either be encouraged to hold onto their traditions or become Romanized. Each path results in different needs and approaches to building your cities and, should you choose the latter, you get the option to drain marshes.
Then, religion is another new addition in Anno 117: Pax Romana, giving us pantheons of Roman and Celtic deities to worship in exchange for different bonuses. The technology tree allows us to unlock new buildings and methods of exploiting the land, while land combat also makes a return, tasking us with putting on our tactician hats and leading armies to victory.
