You might be spending a lot of time foraging in ARC Raiders without coming across any mushrooms at all, or scavenging without finding any pillows. Don’t worry, we’re telling you how to find them fast right here.
Before we give you all the information, however, we need to remind readers that, due to the live-service plans Embark Studios has for the game and the amount of tweaks which are typically made based on player feedback, chances are the locations and spawn/drop rates of these items will change at some point. At the time of writing, the places highlighted below are reliable most of the time.
Where to find mushrooms in ARC Raiders
Mushrooms in ARC Raiders are among the most annoying items to find so far, but we’ve had a decent amount of luck looking for them in the areas marked above. You’ll need to head to the Dam Battlegrounds area (available from the get-go) and focus on the Hydroponic Dome Complex, but paying special attention to the circled bits.
They’re easy to miss, but you’ll regularly find them on water (of the stagnant kind) inside the Complex and on tree trunks in the area. Additionally, the southern forest-y area between the Scrap Yard and Wreckage often has decent spawns of them too. Just keep an eye out for them while traversing these two zones.
Where to find pillows in ARC Raiders
Pillows are better than mushrooms in that you don’t need to actively look for them, but you’re also dependent on the game choosing to give you nice drop rates.
Like keys used to open locked rooms, pillows have a better chance of dropping in residential areas. Of course, the Buried City should be your primary target, as it’s full of abandoned houses, but if you want to look for both mushrooms and pillows in a single run, check the map above for the best spots in the Dam Battlegrounds location.
The Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence are mostly quiet and have plenty of residential rooms to go through as long as nobody has cleaned them out first. May the drop rates be in your favor.
How to use mushrooms and pillows in ARC Raiders
Mushrooms and pillows are required to upgrade Scrappy to level 5 (the final one for now). You’ll need 12 mushrooms and 3 very comfortable pillows, as well as 12 apricots you can find in the natural areas.
