Battlefield V hasn't had the momentous release that the majority of contemporary Battlefield games had received, and fan reception has generally been seen as somewhat mild. With the game mostly out of the limelight, it's easy to forget that EA has lots more in store for Battlefield V.
Battlefield V microtransactions will, apparently, be coming early in 2019, and this is going to be the very first step towards fully realising the potential of Battlefield V.
Battlefield V microtransactions release date was suggested by a recent Amazon listing, as reported by HotHardware, and what we know so far is that players will be able to purchase the infamous 'Battlefield Currency' in various amounts for prices ranging from $4,99 all the way to $49,99. The Battlefield V microtransactions feature will be releasing on 15th of January, 2019, accordingly.
EA's reasoning for not kicking off Battlefield V with its full monetisation features is that they wanted to familiarise players with the game's 'Company' feature and its non-premium currency (Company Coin) before introducing Battlefield Currency.
DICE have been careful to note that Battlefield Currency will only ever get players various cosmetics, which can also be purchased with Company Coin. Thing is, however, that earning Company Coin requires lots of grinding (up to 20 missions for a single firearm upgrade, reportedly, though this is a bug).
Battlefield V Firestorm mode will be coming later next year, in March, and will constitute the game's take on battle royale - a first for DICE. Stay tuned for more info on these curious new Battlefield V features.
