After blasting its way into early access at the beginning of the year, boomer shooter Gravelord has announced a free level editor playtest that not only gives participants a chance to express their creativity and design awesome new maps but also earn cash prizes.
That’s thanks to Gravelord’s Halloween Mapjam 2025 contest, which promises a cash prize pool of $350 while sweetening the deal with Steam keys to publisher Fatbot Games’ entire title catalog as well as other goodies.
Gravelord Free Level Editor Fuels Halloween Mapjam 2025 Contest
As per the official rules, Gravelord’s Halloween Mapjam 2025 contest accepts entries until November 19, so there’s still time to grab its level editor and try your hand at designing your own playspace.
Despite running during spooky season, maps don’t have to feed into the Halloween theme to be considered eligible. They do, however, need to be playable from start to finish and contain original content.
Although multiple map entries are permitted, the contest is only open to solo authors. Gravelord’s development team acts as a jury, joined by guest judges from the mapping and level design community. Here is a breakdown of the prize included in Gravelord’s Halloween Mapjam 2025 contest:
1st Place:
- 250 USD
- Steam keys for every game in the Fatbot Games catalog
- Special role “Mapping Contest Winner” on Fatbot Games Discord Server
2nd Place:
- 100 USD
- Steam keys for every game in the Fatbot Games catalog
- Special role “Mapping Contest Winner” on Fatbot Games Discord Server
3rd Place:
- Steam keys for every game in the Fatbot Games catalog
- Special role “Mapping Contest Winner” on Fatbot Games Discord Server
Gravelord’s level editor playtest can be accessed for free through the boomer shooter’s Steam page, by simply pressing the Request Access button found under the Early Access Game section.
Aside from “intuitive geometry modeling and unique ‘hotspotting’ features for quick texturing and arting,” which make it approachable even if you’re new to designing maps, it also comes with Steam Workshop integration, allowing you to share your creations with other members of the community.
