Hungarian developer The Wild Gentlemen today unveiled cozy cafe management adventure game Zipp’s Cafe as its next project. Exploring The World of Wilderness, a setting it shares with the developer’s next entry in the Chicken Police series, the title sees us dealing with the everyday tasks of running a cafe while listening to the stories of its regulars.
Intended as a prelude to Chicken Police: Into the Hive!, Zipp’s Cafe follows the establishment’s owner, who happens to be a raccoon with a silver tongue, alongside five regulars who are more than eager to share details about their lives and draw us into their world.
While lending an ear to cops and criminals alike, we’ll also need to juggle three minigames that see us cooking, brewing coffee, and washing dishes.
The stories of the five regulars we’ll meet, which include Mick, a crime boss who has recently risen to power, and Frank, a private eye, will “intertwine” with the events of the next Chicken Police game.
“The cafe offers an oasis of peace in the midst of the chaos that is Clawville,” according to the developer.
“It doesn’t matter if you are a cop, a criminal, or as is usually the case in Clawville, both; Zipp will always have a hot cup of coffee and a delicious plate of food waiting for you… as long as you have the money to pay for it.”
Zipp’s Cafe is slated to launch on November 13, 2023 “for just the price of a coffee,” and headed to PC via Steam. You can see it in action in the trailer below.
The next Chicken Police game doesn’t yet have a release date, but spending time with Zipp will at least help familiarize us with its setting.
