Since it's an immersive sim, you wouldn't immediately put Deathloop on a list of multiplayer games. But Arkane's latest title does come with a PvP component, which begs the question if crossplay or cross-platform support is also included.
Deathloop's PvP manifests itself in the shape of Invasions that see Colt having to deal with Julianna on top of the army of Eternalists and other Visionaries that may be present in the area he's currently pushing through. Julianna can be controlled by the AI or by players on and off your friends list, – depending on which option you choose –, which is where crossplay would come in handy.
Unfortunately, Deathloop cross-platform support is not available at launch, which means that you can only invade or be invaded by Juliannas controlled by players on the same platform as you.
The lack of Deathloop crossplay at launch isn't necessarily surprising. The title is available on PC and PS5, and Sony is known for its relatively skeptical approach towards the feature.
Nevertheless, just like other games launching on PlayStation do include the feature, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibility to see it coming to Blackreef at a later point in time.
The natural decrease in player numbers that eventually affects every game will likely lengthen matchmaking times and Deathloop cross-platform support would be one solution to keep invasions working smoothly for longer.
