Diablo 2: Resurrected looks to bring back the classic hack and slash RPG in all its retro glory but, just like it doesn’t shun modernizing some of its elements, it will also jump on board the Twitch Drops train, rewarding players for watching their favorite streamers.
Diablo 2: Resurrected Twitch Drops work in a similar way to those in other titles. The first step involves linking your Twitch account to your Battle.net account. This can be done by opening the former’s settings and going to the Connections tab. Look for Blizzard Battle.net, then click the purple Connect button and follow the instructions that appear.
Once the two accounts are connected, you will be eligible to earn Diablo 2: Resurrected Twitch Drops. The first campaign takes place during the game’s Early Access beta, acting as the way in for anyone who hasn’t pre-ordered the game yet.
Starting with Friday, August 13 at 10:00 AM PDT/6 PM BST, you can watch any stream of the game for 2.5 hours to gain access to the Early Beta. The catch is that Diablo 2: Resurrected’s Twitch Drops are only available until August 14 at 12:00 PM PDT/ 8 PM BST.
The Early Access beta itself lasts until August 16 but, if you’re planning to get in via Twitch, you’ll have to act quickly.
It remains to be seen whether or not Twitch Drops will be a part of Diablo 2: Resurrected after its full version launches. You will, however, be able to import saves from the classic version, which is great if you’ve been holding onto those.
