Dying Light 2 is off to a great start on Steam, its concurrent player count securing it a cozy place among the top 5 most played games on the storefront during its launch day.
At the time of writing, Dying Light 2 has climbed to the fourth position, its player count putting it above titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Apex Legends, or Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel which, itself, had a successful launch on the storefront last month.
Dying Light 2’s Steam concurrent player count peaked at 230,486 on launch day, according to website Steam Database, and it’s likely that the number will go even higher over the weekend.
Although this will be a month packed with major releases, it’s probably safe to say that Techland’s open-world game will be one of February’s biggest.
After a long time in development and several delays that painted an uncertain picture for the game, it finally gives players the chance to explore Villedor on their own or in co-op.
In our review, we found that Dying Light 2 “can certainly be an exhilarating open-world game,” but repetitive side content and an unfocused story hold it back from greatness.
