As Enshrouded continues to march onward as one of the most successful open-world survival games on Steam, many players had been wondering about the next content update’s definitive release date. Today, we can confirm Wake of the Water will arrive on November 10.
Keen Games shared the news today, stating the content patch needs a bit more time in the oven to ensure polish across all the content it’ll introduce: “The Wake of the Water brings the community’s top-requested features into the game: dynamic water—the number-one request— significant combat improvements, and the addition of two-handed Greatswords.”
When it comes to “combat improvements,” it appears the team’s focus has been on reevaluating how attacks, armor, items, regeneration, skills, spells, and even the UI operate alone and in conjunction. That said, “combat remains flexible and customizable, and with the addition of several new weapons, spells, abilities, and items to utilize in the update, players will find a vast range of fighting options.”
Of course, water is at the center of this long-awaited update, but the team has also included much smaller “planned features” like tamed capybaras and QoL improvements based on feedback as Keen Games walks toward a planned 2026 launch on PC and consoles when the game is ready for the 1.0 release.
Full patch notes will be shared ahead of Wake of the Water’s November 10 launch, but here’s a preview of everything we can expect to see, straight from the press release shared with us:
- Combat Overhaul: reworking of UI, rebalancing of weapons, armor, abilities, buffs, items, regeneration, new skills and abilities will make fighting much more exciting.
- Voxel Water: finally, Flameborn can enjoy swimming, a fishing mini-game, watering plants via watering can or irrigation, terraforming, and basebuilding within, around, under… Dynamic, dazzling, and deadly if you stay under too long.
- Here, Fishy Fishy: new fish and land-based critters like Wetland snapjaws, crabs, and capybaras are coming. Tame your own chill capybara to join you at your beachside base.
- New consumable and decorative items, quality of life features: expect new items that provide buffs, ranging from food to decor, along with the ability to label chests and signs.
