Evil Genius was released in 2004 to positive reviews and is currently available for free for a limited time, courtesy of UK studio Rebellion as a promotion for the long awaited sequel due out later this year. In a twist to the usual giveaway format, Rebellion are not disclosing when this offer will end, so grab your copy quick to avoid disappointment.
The game is set on the private island of one of three notorious evil geniuses, each reminiscent of classic spy movie villains. The whole setup is a light hearted spoof of those same thrillers, where you use your dastardly wiles to plot world domination while defending your secret lair from spies and saboteurs. Can you build the ultimate doomsday weapon while fending off the forces of justice?
Evil Genius Free for an Unknown Time
Build your defences up with everything from kung fu minions to flame thrower traps, and should you manage to capture a world class secret agent, be sure to lock them up securely and taunt them through the cell door. Each agent has a weakness that will let you get rid of them for good, but discovering what they are before they escape and wreck havoc on their way out is another story altogether.
Evil Genius has gained a cult classic status over the years and while known for its flaws, the general good humour and fun outweighs these, so much so that it currently sits at overwhelmingly positive on Steam. To get your free copy of the original Evil Genius, you have to go to Rebellion’s website by clicking this link and following the instructions to get a key to redeem on Steam.
