Publisher V Publishing and developer Matrioshka Games today announced that upcoming hack and slash RPG Fallen Angel now has a release date.
Boasting a story derived from John Milton's "Paradise Lost", Fallen Angel puts players in control of Lucifer himself, following him as he makes for Heaven to enact vengeance upon God.
Upon realizing that God has departed, Lucifer takes advantage of the infighting between Heaven's archangels to cut them down in an attempt to claim the mantle of God as his own.
Fallen Angel Release Date
"Drawing from the Old Testament, biblical Apocrypha, and a post-modern style, the many realms of Heaven are a strange and varied place. In addition to the classical pearly gates and angelic choirs, Lucifer will be ravaging his way through high-tech constructs, idyllic earth-like plains, floating islands, and more beyond." reads an emailed press release.
"Each archangel will have a strong, thematic influence on the environments and creatures the player will encounter."
As Lucifer, players will get to use blades, guns, claws, and a variety of skills to strike down Heaven's warriors.
These weapons will accommodate different combat styles ranging from no-nonsense melee to keeping your distance and fighting at range.
You'll also be able to wreak havoc across heaven alongside a friend, as Fallen Angel will launch with co-op and full controller support.
Fallen Angel's release date is slated for October 22, which is when the game will become available on PC, through Steam.
