Publisher Nacon and developer Spiders today released Greedfall 2: The Dying World’s 0.3 update, the biggest content patch since the beleaguered RPG entered early access more than a year ago. Its two main additions come in the shape of a new region called Peren and a new companion, Till.
Previously the capital of the Astrian civilisation, the city of Peren finds itself ruled by the Merchant Congregation when we set foot in it. Feeling the touch of the Malichor epidemic that plagues the land was, however, not enough to put an end to the political intrigues.

Greedfall 2: The Dying World’s 0.3 update also lets us adventure alongside the man responsible for our capture. Having abandoned his position as captain of the mercenary guild known as the Coin Guard, Till now offers his help as he seeks redemption.
Heavily armored and wielding a two-handed sword, he “excels at drawing the attention of enemies to defend his companions.”
Greedfall 2: The Dying World’s 0.3 update also reworks its divisive combat system, introducing three distinct modes that can be swapped at any time during a playthrough.
Where Tactical mode “offers total control over the battlefield and the camera, allowing you to optimally micro-manage your companions’ actions and making greater use of the tactical pause system,” Focused mode revolves around making the best use of your character’s abilities while the AI directs your allies in combat.
Hybrid mode then aims for “a balanced experience, providing partial control over the camera and tactical pause.”
These options are accompanied by three difficulty modes which, in a similar vein, cater to hardcore tacticians, story enthusiasts, and those who want a modicum of challenge.
In addition, Greedfall 2: The Dying World’s 0.3 update also brings us new side quests and events, new crafting skills, alongside an enhanced character creator.
You can check out all the changes in the full patch notes for Greedfall 2: The Dying World’s 0.3 update. Whether or not this proves enough to turn things around for the RPG remains to be seen.
