Half-Life: Alyx was unveiled earlier this year as a full game ready to be experienced in VR but will it feature multiplayer modes?
While the series is known for its single-player campaigns, tradition which Half-Life: Alyx aims to withhold, the addition of multiplayer modes would, without a doubt, be a welcome additional surprise to those jumping on the VR train.
Half-Life: Alyx Multiplayer Modes
Multiplayer modes in Half-Life: Alyx weren’t a discussed topic when it was revealed, however, it does look like the title will focus exclusively on the single-player campaign.
“We’re not planning on supporting any multiplayer modes at this point.”, programmer Robin Walker told website The Verge.
While hopes of multiplayer in Half-Life: Alyx were squashed, the game attempting to go beyond just being an experimental demo for VR still acts as a major draw.
The interest shown in the Valve Index after the game’s announcement potentially shows not only that gamers have been waiting for a long time for another Half-Life title but also that they’re willing to embrace VR as long as a full game is offered.
Half-Life: Alyx is set to launch on Steam in March 2020 and will be compatible with PC-based VR headsets.
