Publisher and developer Modoyo has announced that hero shooter Heart Electric’s first global playtest will include a Dave the Diver partnership. Participants will receive a limited-time in-game background featuring art from Mintrocket’s breakout hit.
Heart Electric’s first global playtest is slated to occur this weekend, between October 24 and October 26, giving those interested a chance to see how its distinct approach to the subgenre plays.
Heart Electric Dave the Diver Partnership
Simply joining the playtest, which you can do from Heart Electric’s Steam page and entering the arena will be enough to earn the limited-edition Dave the Diver background, which you can then display in-game.
Although light, Heart Electric’s Dave the Diver partnership is one way to start building up your inventory of cosmetic items ahead of the game’s launch.
Modoyo’s upcoming hero shooter pits four teams of three against each other tasking them with draining their opponents’ energies before depleting their own.
The playtest includes several playable hero, each of which can “wield the Flux and […] manipulate anything metallic in its surroundings.”
This enables heroes to not just craft makeshift armor from loose metal objects, but also “strategically navigate the environment byswinging through the air using metal surfaces and creating a sequence of jumps to outsmart opponents.”
One of the heroes we’ll be able to try out across three different arenas is Prodigy, who uses sound to discover nearby hidden enemies. Her passive ability grants noise cancellation, enabling stealthier play.
It will be interesting to see how Heart Electric is received since, as much as its Dave the Diver partnership might also draw fans of Mintrocket’s title, developer Modoyo is attempting to wrestle with a subgenre that’s proven difficult to tame.
