With Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 4 on the horizon, the previous games are on sale to get you up to speed on the RTS series.
Yes, nine years after Relic Entertainment’s Dawn of War 3, a new entry by King Art is on the way, hoping to revitalize a great strategy game.
But before that, there’s a lot of history to dig into, and on Steam, you can get the previous entries on the cheap.
Dawn of War Sale Offers a Cheap History of War
First up, Dawn of War - Anniversary Edition gives you the original game and all its content for just £7.91. If you wish to play the classic in its shiny new Definitive Edition form, however, then that’s down to £19.19. But if you already have the Anniversary Edition, the Veterans Upgrade to Definitive Edition is also on sale for £12.79.
Dawn of War 2 - Anniversary Edition comes in at 80% off, giving you the hulking strategy package for just £7.99. Finally, while it may not be as highly regarded as its predecessors, Dawn of War 3 is also 80% off and will cost you just £6.99, so it’s worth a punt, if only to compare and contrast with Dawn of War 4 when it arrives.
As with most Warhammer games, you don’t have to be into Warhammer to enjoy them, as there are plenty of great games under that umbrella that can be enjoyed with little background knowledge. But the really good ones tend to be a balance of being great games and great representations of the Warhammer name (whichever version of it that might be). The Dawn of War series is proof of that.
Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 4 promises to be the biggest Dawn of War saga to date. It will let players take charge of four unique factions: Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Dawn of War debut of the Adeptus Mechanicus in gameplay designed to evoke the classic feel of the series’ bloodthirsty strategy.
