Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Sells 500,000 Copies in Less than 72 Hours
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is currently sitting at a Very Positive rating on Steam, with 89% of reviews praising developer Unfrozen’s approach. The positive initial reception and number of copies sold is quite promising for a series that struggled before going on an extended hiatus.
“In less than 72 hours, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era sold over 500,000 copies on Steam,” the developer wrote.
“This not only means that so many of you have purchased the game you’re effectively a kingdom of your own (wow!), but also lets us shine in the Steam top sellers chart next to such games as Diablo IV and Windrose!”
Although this is a great start that could help bring Heroes of Might and Magic back into the spotlight, Olden Era’s journey is really just beginning.
The cadence and quality of its future content updates will ultimately determine whether it earns its place among the turn-based strategy greats.
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era aims to spend one year in early access, although “that could change depending on how the design develops with player feedback.”
