Publisher Iceberg Interactive and developer Fancy Cat Interactive are gearing up for the Steam Early Access launch of Heroes of Valor, a World War II-inspired third-person shooter whose cartoonish graphics and wacky antics remind of the defunct Battlefield Heroes.
Pitting the Allies and Axis against each other, Heroes of Valor’s first public version includes 5 maps that see us battling our way through Normandy, Mediterranean towns, and the African desert. We’ll get to use more than 45 weapons, 8 skills, alongside a set of planes, tanks, and other vehicles that promise a chaotic combined arms warfare experience.

Its four classes – ranging from the stealthy recon to the heavily armed, uh, heavy – boast not just distinct playstyles but also “almost 200 cosmetic items,” including a completely historically accurate dinosaur head.
Heroes of Valor’s inclusion of bots means that solo and co-op-minded players should feel as welcome as PvP enthusiasts, while customizable matches let us adjust their length and time of day alongside the maps and game modes we prefer.
Below, you’ll find a list of key features, as shared by the publisher on the game’s Steam page:
- Class-Based Mayhem: Choose from Trooper, Heavy, Recon, or Engineer. Each class brings unique weapons, abilities, and battlefield roles.
- All-Out Warfare: Infantry skirmishes, tank duels, aerial dogfights, and more. Switch roles and tactics on the fly across various warzones.
- Objective-Driven Combat: Just slaying the enemy won’t do. We need to achieve our goals in this war! Conquer those objectives, or your heroism will all be for nothing.
- Stylized Carnage: A stylised, character-driven visual style meets the grit of World War II. It’s warfare with flair and firepower.
- Smart Bots, Relentless Action: Fight alongside or against intelligent bots that flank, fly, and fight with real strategy.
- Fully Customizable Battles: Set match rules, bot difficulty, time of day, and map rotation. Solo, co-op, or chaos with friends.
- Hero Customization: Unlock outfits, weapon skins, emotes, and more to suit your soldier’s style.
- Easy to Jump In, Hard to Put Down: Accessible for new recruits. Deep enough for seasoned veterans. Now enlist already, soldier! What are you waiting for! At this rate we might just run out of enemies!
Heroes of Valor enters Steam Early Access on June 12, 2025, and will be priced at £12,79/$14,99/€14,79 or your regional equivalent.
The developer plans to spend “around 12 months” in early access, during which time it aims to add “more maps, cosmetics, weapons, vehicles, game modes, quality of life and stability updates.”
