What are the Hood: Outlaws & Legends characters and classes? What makes each of the four playable outlaw special?
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is an upcoming multiplayer PvPvE heist game from publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Sumo Digital which sees you teaming up with other players to steal from the rich and give to the poor.
Like parts of its premise, the four playable Hood: Outlaws & Legends characters are also loosely based on figures from the legend of Robin Hood.

But heroes, they are not, as they won’t spare a thought before taking out competing outlaws with similar goals.
Inescapably, Hood: Outlaws & Legends’ characters are products of the game’s dark and violent medieval world.
Although details about how they actually play are scarce at the moment, the publisher did share the four characters’ backstories, which some will find enough to start picking favorites.
Here’s what we currently know about the Hood: Outlaws & Legends characters and classes, alongside a bit of speculation on how they might play.
Robin the Ranger
Also known as Hood, Robin the Ranger is the leader of the outlaws. His military skill earned him the respect of those who joined him, while the common people saw in him a symbol of hope in the fight against the oppressive regime that holds them under its boot.
He’s seen carrying both a bow and a sword, potentially suggesting that, should the need arise, he can dispatch opponents both up close and from a distance.
Marianne the Hunter
The former heiress of a large estate on the west coast of Scotland, Marianne Fitzwalter’s life changed when her father was killed by the state’s soldiers.
From that point on, she took it upon herself to strike back at the state and reclaim her lands. She’s seen equipped with a hand-mounted crossbow, suggesting that her specialty is ranged combat.
John the Brawler
John is the son of a blacksmith with a penchant for brawling that looks up to Robin, hoping that he is the solution to pushing back the oppressive state.
His muscular build and preference for a hammer point towards him being one of the group’s melee specialists.
Tooke the Mystic
Tooke is a bit of an outlier, having previously harbored love for both the state and its religion that preached uniformity and obedience. Everything changed when his former mentor was falsely accused, tortured and killed.
Escaping the regime’s grasp doesn’t come without a cost, which is why his only option was to head to the Greenwood, which is likely where he meets Robin and his associates.
Wielding a flail, Tooke also seems to be a melee-focused character in Hood: Outlaws & Legends.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends Classes
There currently is no word on whether Hood: Outlaws & Legends will feature classes. We do know that each character has “unique skills and mystical abilities” alongside a series of perks that alter how they play.
We’ll keep an eye out and update this article with new details about Hood: Outlaws & Legends’ characters and classes as soon as we learn more.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends is aiming for a 2021 release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.
