Bungie’s reboot of the Marathon series is finally here, and extraction shooter fans jumping into its brutal online runs will be looking to chew through more content soon. Here we’ll be collecting every patch and major update released so far while also looking towards the game’s future.
As always, it’s healthy to remember live-service games change their plans all the time, especially if critical problems arise and player counts aren’t where they should be. Everything here is subject to change, but we’ll do our best to keep this evergreen article updated with the latest news on Marathon’s present and future updates.
Marathon Latest Patch Notes: Update 1.1.0
Marathon’s Update 1.1.0, released on June 2, kicking off Season 2 and delivering a massive list of tweaks, additions, and fixes. Here’s a quick rundown of the main points, but we recommend checking out the full patch notes too.
- Added Streamer Mode option in the Settings.
- Duos is now a regular option - each day a new location is chosen to have Duo queue active, indicated by a Duos marker on Zone Select.
- Matchmaking now supports a countdown time before launching into a run.
- Brand new players to Marathon are more likely to match with other new players during the opening of S2.
- Merged Ranked High Stakes and Low Stakes into a single mode.
- Faction reputation awarded by completing Standard contracts has been significantly improved.
- Increased the amount of Credits gained when achieving early Season Level rank ups.
- Premium Rewards Pass owners can now either claim individual rewards with SILK or purchase them for LUX if desired instead. The page will still need to be unlocked before the reward can be purchased.
- Unclaimed cosmetic Codex rewards will be claimed automatically at the end of Season 1.
- Increased the size of Overflow inventory to prevent accidental item loss.
- Runners will now receive a small amount of Runner Level XP for time spent in a Run.
- New Shell - Sentinel added.
- Implants have been significantly reworked. Each implant now has a single, fixed perk and a fixed stat package.
- New implants added.
- New guns added: D54 Battle Pistol & KKV-9SD SMG.
- New equipment added: Frost Mine, Vector Grenade & Signal Flares.
- New zone added: Dire Marsh (Night).
- The Cradle: Invest in your Runner shell over the course of the season to customize your stats and perks for your playstyle.
