Becoming an Imperator: Rome regional power means you're only two steps away from the topmost ranking currently in-game – that of a major power. But what does that entail?
The path to being recognized as an Imperator: Rome regional power is paved with conquest, whether through diplomacy or outright warfare. The rank requires your country to control from 25 to 99 cities. Remember, cities are the smallest organizational unit on the map in Imperator: Rome.
Aside from having more territory and resources under your rule, reaching the rank of Imperator: Rome regional power also bestows a couple of bonuses upon your country. The abilities to guarantee other countries, threaten war and form alliances become available. You also receive an extra capital import route, +3 to diplomatic relations, +50% to diplomatic range and a government bonus multiplier of +100%.
That's not to say that you won't face challenges. The more territory you own, the bigger the chance you'll have a multitude of cultures and religions to deal with. Should your borders extend, you'll also need to rethink your approach to defending against possible incursions from multiple sides. Thus, while governing an Imperator: Rome regional power comes with benefits, it also requires a fair bit of extra attention.
