Jurassic World Evolution 3 launches tomorrow, October 21 (stay tuned for our review), but that doesn’t mean Frontier is done with surprise pre-launch reveals. After learning island generation was in, we were left wondering about the mystery antagonists teased over the course of the marketing campaign, but that’s being kept a secret until the release. Evolution 2 veterans should get ready to celebrate though.
A very brief Steam news post on October 17 announced all the missing Jurassic World Evolution 2 base game roster species will be part of Evolution 3 at no extra cost, with dimorphism and juveniles included. Though the game at launch already features almost every fan-favorite dinosaur and prehistoric animal, many diehards were wondering about the fate of less popular species.
No date for the first free content update was provided, but we’ve been told the first reintroduced post-launch species will be the Kentrosaurus. We must also point out the blog post clearly states “base game species,” meaning we shouldn’t expect DLC animals which already aren’t part of Evolution 3 (such as the Atrociraptor or Megalodon) to make a free return. Some might come back as part of the third game’s DLCs for all we know, but this is just speculation at this point.
For now, you can go through our full dinosaurs (and other creatures) list for Jurassic World Evolution 3, which we’ll be keeping updated as new content patches and paid DLCs hit the ambitious threequel.
