Kiln’s release date sees Psychonauts 2 developer Double Fine Productions showing off its experimental side by exploring the realm of online multiplayer party brawler through a series of rather unusual protagonists.
Kiln places pottery front and center, showing us that even the most inoffensive objects can choose to embrace violence, provided they’re possessed by a rowdy spirit willing to use them as armor.
Kiln Release Date
Kiln’s release window is currently set to spring 2026, as shared by the studio behind it during January 2026’s Developer Direct showcase.

Kiln Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, Kiln puts us in the role of a cute but rather bellicose spirit that needs to secure protection before entering battle. That’s why, before we get to duke it out, we have to actually sculpt our very own ceramic armor, whose size and shape determine both our playstyle and the abilities we get to use.
Discovering what different pottery can do is part of the experience, as Kiln is a team game, and synergizing with our teammates is key to securing victory in its 4v4 battles.
Learning each map is equally important, since they “all have their own styles, shortcuts, and other points of interest you’ll want to make note of, and the other team will be working very hard to extinguish your kiln as quickly as possible.”
After battle, we head to The Wedge “to practice [our] pottery prowess, decorate [our] pots to make them yours, then share [our] creations with others (and admire their handiwork, too).”
Despite its focus on both creation and destruction, Kiln retains the lighthearted tone that the developer’s games are known for.
Kiln Price and Platforms
Kiln’s price hasn’t been revealed just yet, but we can expect it to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
