The PR Blitzkrieg from MicroProse shows no sign of stopping anytime soon, and today is no exception. MicroProse have now announced two upcoming FPS games to join their rapidly growing lineup of games, this time from developers Drakeling Labs.
Warfare 1944 arrives on the scene with an early access launch date of July 7th, 2020 when it will storm the beaches of Steam. The game is designed with a focus on tactical gameplay with deadly bullets and proximity voice communications. As the name suggests, it is set at the height of WW2.
The team claim various influences from the art style of Due Process to the weapon handling of Red Orchestra, and hope their early access game will evolve into “an epic, tactical, large scale, spiritual successor to Battlefield 1942.”
MicroProse - Warfare 1944, and Operation: Harsh Doorstop
Operation: Harsh Doorstop is also a tactical shooter, this time set during a fictional Afghan war of 1991, where NATO crosses swords with the Soviet Union to halt their expansion into the middle-east. The game is also a free-to-play community developed title “devoid of micro-transactions, paid downloadable content, or loot box mechanics.”
You can find both games on Steam, here and here.
