Broken Arrow launched earlier this year to mixed player reviews, but that hasn’t impacted Steel Balalaika’s content plans. In fact, Update 1.0.11 packs one big Halloween-themed surprise on top of much-needed improvements: zombies!
Yes, we’re not joking. As fully explained by the team’s latest lengthy post on Steam, a “real zombie mode” is being added to the game after the success of the Workshop modification by the user Joining Player. It supports up to 4 players in co-op. The studio has also released a Halloween 2025 trailer to accompany it:
Perhaps more importantly, this patch also adds Easy Anti-Cheat to support the studio’s own solution following player complaints about rampant cheating in the online multiplayer. Considering a competitive online community was among Broken Arrow’s big ambitions, this is a key addition to ensure the game has actual legs as we go into 2026.
“During this time, our own anti-cheat system has been continuously improved and has significantly reduced the number of cheaters. However, we have come to the conclusion that this is not enough for truly reliable protection and the development of esports. In update 1.0.11, an additional anti-cheat system - Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) has been added to the game. It will work in conjunction with our internal cheat detection system, creating a multi-layer barrier against cheating attempts.”
To ensure it doesn’t clash with the third-party programs some players like to use when playing offline, the game can also be launched without EAC if you’re sticking to single-player modes and scenarios.
Other key improvements include server-side-based network architecture, mission editor upgrades, and a decent list of fixes and balance tweaks you can fully read through here.
