Does Sniper: Ghost Warrior - Contracts sound a tiny bit familiar to you, too? It feels like there's this other, older 'Contracts' game about assassinations, but we can't remember what it was, for the life of us. In any case, the upcoming Ghost Warrior title is intended to be a fair bit different than its predecessor was.
Taking the spotlight to the harsh Siberian wilderness, Sniper: Ghost Warrior - Contracts (it's really getting a bit of a mouthful at this point) is planned to come packed with both singleplayer and multiplayer game modes, though the most important feature seems to be the titular 'contracts'.
Instead of throwing players out into an open world, and letting them tackle whatever problems they find in a free-form way, it is planned for Contracts to distill the core sniping gameplay of the series, and offer dense, focused and tailor-made contract missions with clear objectives and a fixed reward.
This way, developers hope to combine the best parts of open-world and linear gameplay to create highly-replayable levels with lots of optional objectives to complete, emergent obstacles, and interesting environments, so that Sniper: Ghost Warrior - Contracts becomes the best in the series.
Citing an overly ambitious approach to Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, developers promise to focus on concrete mission design this time around, and have it come with a better engine, shorter loading times, and a more stable FPS.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior - Contracts is currently planned for launch in 2019 on PC and consoles, so stay tuned for more information here at Game Watcher.
