Phasmophobia continues its slow (but fruitful) march towards a full release in 2026. Meanwhile, it’s been getting plenty of love via regular content updates in early access, and the next one will bring Christmas and the Krampus back into the game.
Starting on December 16 (and set to end on January 6), the ‘Winter’s Jest’ event will challenge ghost hunters on all platforms to find Krampus’ jack-in-the-box “across a rotating selection of event maps.” Rewards await, and the first live-action tease of the event keeps things creepy on top of festive:
We’ve also learned that last month’s Nell’s Diner map will be getting a fitting makeover for the Christmas season, inviting customers into a slightly different locale… Here’s what you can expect from the ‘Winter’s Jest’ event when it arrives on December 16:
- Naughty or Nice?: This year, a new frightful challenge awaits Hunters who will have to be making their list and checking it twice, for a chance to get rewards and surprises from previous festive events.
- Event Maps: Ten event maps will be on offer, including Grafton Farmhouse, Bleasdale Farmhouse and Point Hope.
- Rewards: Ghost Hunters can unlock an upgradable trophy, alongside an ID card and badge (including an animated variant).
Community Goals:
- Community Goal 1 - Toy Soldier ID Card & Badge set
- Community Goal 2 - Winter’s Jest trophy unlock.
- Note: If you unlocked the trophy last year, a new trophy will not be added to your cabinet. You’ll immediately start working towards it’s upgrades.
- Personal Goal 1 - Animated Toy Soldier ID Card
- Personal Goal 2 - Upgrade to the Winter’s Jest trophy. Can be repeated 3 times.
Winter’s Jest Event Maps List:
- 10 Ridgeview Court
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- 13 Willow Street
- 42 Edgefield Road
- Camp Woodwind
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Maple Lodge Campsite
- Point Hope
- Nells Diner
Last but not least, we’ve been informed official Kinetic Games partners will have first-look streams running on December 15, one day early. The self-published developer will also host its own holiday-themed stream today, December 9, at 5pm here. The contents of this Christmas stream haven’t been revealed yet, so you should expect the unexpected.
