Ring of Elysium is getting its second post-European launch update not two days after its last one, and even though this one might seem less flashy at face value, it is a welcome improvement nonetheless.
Its most prominent change is the laptop giveaway event extension, as well as a change to when the weekly challenges unlock. A number of improvements have also been made in the game's UI and weapon textures, plus the usual bug fixing.
Ring of Elysium Update 11. 27. 2018 Patch Notes
Following the download and subsequent installation of this update, ROE players will see a four-day extension to the gaming laptop giveaway event, with it now wrapping up alongside the main Thanksgiving festivities, on 2nd of December.
Also added are the 'soft body dynamics' for Lynn's hair, which may be the testing ground for introducing the tech to all characters in the future. This update also introduces texture resolution improvements for firearms' iron sights, as well as subtly changing certain aspects of the UI. Anti-cheat measures have also been updated.
The entire changelog for this update is available on the ROE Steam Community page.
Ring of Elysium Update 11. 25. 2018 Patch Notes
This update introduces the Training Games option for newcomers to the game, which allows them to fight AI-controlled bots instead of real players for some time, while they're learning what makes ROE tick. Should players wrap up their training matches outstandingly, they will quickly be placed in normal rounds without any bots added to the mix, while the ones who perform more poorly will keep seeing them from time to time, as a way to boost their rating.
The update also kickstarts the Sheriff's Thanksgiving Present event, which will last from 25th of November to 2nd of December, and will have players earn special Icon styles, Adventurer badges, various cosmetics, E-Points, EXP, and more.
Developers also note that Ring of Elysium has received an optimisation pass, and should now be easier on the CPU, as well as a welcome round of bugfixes, which you can read all about on the full changelog page.
