Psyonix have recently published a complete list of item drop chances for their implementation of the infamous loot crate mechanics in Rocket League, courtesy of the game's upcoming progression revamp and the introduction of Rocket Pass, of which we'll go into some detail a bit further down.
The drop rates have, according to Psyonix, remained the same ever since the game's Crates & Keys system launched back in 2016, and every new Crate and Crate Series item will be subject to these percentages as well.
Rocket League Crate Drop Rates
Following is the complete list of drop types in a descending order, starting with the 'Rare' rarity tier:
- Rare Item: 55%
- Very Rare Item: 28%
- Import Item: 12%
- Exotic Item: 4%
- Black Market Item: 1%
- Chance of receiving 'Painted' attribute: 25%
- Chance of receiving 'Certified' attribute: 25%
</ul>
According to Psyonix, the 'unboxing' of an item is a three-stage process: first comes the selection of the item's rarity level, then the system determines which item from the range of items assigned to said rarity level has dropped, and finally, 'Painted' and/or 'Certified' attributes are rolled.
Psyonix have also promised to update the published percentage stats should they ever change, so stay tuned to their blog in case you're overly worried about that.
Back to Rocket Pass - this will be a new, time-limited progression system in both free and premium variants, through which players will be able to unlock additional content. Exact details on how this will work are available on the game's website, as per usual.
