During today’s Galaxies Showcase, publisher Team17 Digital and developer Sisimo Games revealed Skinwalker as their next gruesome hack n’ slash side-scrolling platformer.
Focusing on a weary scientist that ends up giving up his humanity in an attempt to save his daughter, the title promises plenty of difficult choices alongside a fair amount of pixelated carnage.
Skinwalker Announced During Galaxies Showcase
As attempts to cure his daughter’s terminal illness fail, Skinwalker’s protagonists discovers a mysterious being held captive inside their father’s research center.
Running out of options, the scientist forges a pact with the formidable beast, granting it freedom while being able to use its immense strength to fight anyone who stands in his way.
Alternating between human and beast mode is a core part of Skinwalker, with the latter offering “increased strength and agility, allowing you to skillfully dodge enemy attacks and swiftly navigate hostile environments.”
You’ll notice that invulnerability isn’t listed above and that’s not by accident. Powerful as it may be, the creature can still be defeated.
The decisions made along the way affect both Skinwalker’s overall plot and the fate of the scientist’s daughter.
We can expect “moral dilemmas and intense emotional situations that require reflective and empathetic responses throughout the game.”
Skinwalker releases in 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Catch a glimpse of it in action below.
