Ubisoft today announced that it has decided to delay the release date of long-awaited pirate game Skull and Bones once more, this time until the first part of 2023.
After a troubled development cycle and years spent under the radar, Skull and Bones re-emerged earlier this year with a fairly beefy gameplay presentation. The title seemed on track for a November launch which will, naturally, no longer happen now.
Skull and Bones Release Date
“Ahoy there, privateers. Our team is hard at work polishing and balancing the experience ahead of the worldwide launch. As a result, we’ve made the tough decision to move our release date to March 9, 2023,” the publisher wrote in a post on its website.
“We’re very eager for you all to get your hands on Skull and Bones and dive in headfirst to the dangerous and exciting world of building your own pirate empire. To give you the best possible experience we’ve decided to take a little more time to make sure we can deliver exactly that.”
The post also reveals that an open beta for the game is scheduled to kick off “in the near future.” No exact date was provided, but we should learn more about it over the coming weeks and months.
Skull and Bones is now slated to launch on March 9, 2023 and headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
