With the massive Siege Mode update and the rebalance-heavy Patch 9 now in the rearview, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now looking at Patch 10 and its first-anniversary celebration.
On July 30, a new official Steam post detailed a bit of what we can expect from Patch 10 as well as the second year of content. Focus and Saber underline that August will be quieter as much of the team goes on holiday and the focus is on delivering a big update in September alongside a Year 2 season pass.
If you’re looking for the rundown on everything coming to Space Marine 2’s Patch 10.0 and the beginning of its second year of free and paid content, scroll down the page. We’ve collected all the latest info and tried to kept things as brief as possible.
Space Marine 2 Patch 10.0 Release Date
Patch 10.0 for Space Marine 2 is expected to be released at some point in September across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
A more specific release window hasn’t been shared yet, as the team is now preparing for a quieter month of August and has just put out a substantial ninth major update which fixes and reworks plenty of guns, melee weapons, perks, class abilities, and more.
Space Marine 2 Patch 10.0 Content
As it stands, the full list of content coming with Patch 10.0 (or Update 10) isn’t entirely clear, as Focus and Saber are trying to get us excited for both Patch 10 and Year 2 of content at the same time and some of the revealed chunks of content might be delayed. We know about a number of things which are currently confirmed to arrive in the next major update in September though:
- New PvP map for every mode set on Avarax.
- New PvP mode: Helbrute Onslaught. Full details below:
“Two teams of Chaos Marines will fight to control strategic areas, but also to take control of the Helbrute. The first team to take control of an objective gets to control the Helbrute, until the opposite team takes it down. One player gets to control the Helbrute at a time, and this player will be picked randomly among players who participated in securing the control point. To have the Helbrute on their side, the team that failed to secure the first control point will need to slay the Helbrute before securing a new designated control point. Controlling the Helbrute grants the team a strong advantage, but killing it will also reward points to the opposite team. The Helbrute uses a Helbrute Thunder Hammer in melee, and a Plasma Cannon in range.”
- New weapons: Power Axe and Pyrecannon.
- New Majoris enemy: Chaos Spawn (pictured above), an abomination with three variations, each with unique movesets and abilities.
- New game mode, variation of PvE with new gameplay modifiers each week and special rewards.
- Year 2 season pass with new cosmetics, featuring brand-new chapters and returning ones. First up, the Black Templar Champion for the Bulwark Class will arrive in September alongside Patch 10.
Space Marine 2 Siege Community Event
Last but not least, Focus and Saber have announced a new community event with 50% extra XP rewards when playing Siege. It runs from July 29 until August 5.
