There’s a whole host of Final Fantasy goodness and much more from Square-Enix that’s discounted in its Humble Bundle January sale.
There’s almost everything in Final Fantasy history up for grabs, from classics to modern remakes. As any fan will know, that’s a lot of Final Fantasy.
You name it, it’s probably there, but let’s go into some of the Final Fantasy highlights rather than list the staggering amount of them on sale.
Square-Enix January Sale Highlights
Let’s start with the beginning and the current end of the mainline Final Fantasy series. The 2D remaster of the original Final Fantasy is currently just £5.84 (or you can get the I-VI bundle for £35.74), while Final Fantasy XVI, the most recent entry, is 50% off for either its Standard or Complete editions.
MMORPG fans who have yet to indulge in the marvelous Final Fantasy XIV, the Complete Edition is just £17.49 for the hit online game and every single one of its expansions. You could lose literal years of your life for under £20!
There are also discounts on the Final Fantasy 7 remakes and last year’s Final Fantasy Tactics remaster if you want something a bit more modern.
Naturally, it’s going to be top-heavy on the publisher and developer’s biggest franchise, but for anyone looking for anything else, there’s an interesting grab bag of the other games under the Square-Enix banner.
At the top of the tree are the Nier games. Nier: Replicant for 60% off and Nier: Automata- Game of the Yorha Edition, the same, making the latter just £11.99 for one of the most celebrated games of the 21st century. The Life is Strange series has discounts of between 50-80%, and with a movie version recently confirmed, you can get Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition for a ridiculous £2.39. Well, well worth it.
Fancy some retro curiosities? John Romero’s fumbling Daikatana can be yours for only 69p, as can Dungeon Siege and Deathtrap Dungeon.
If you still want RPGs, just not Final Fantasy, then why not get some Dragon Quest in your life? Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is 40% off, and one of my favorite games of all time, Dragon Quest Builders 2, is currently £19.99. There are other RPG alternatives of course, with Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Bravely Default II, Legend of Mana, Octopath Traveler, and the Star Ocean and Kingdom Hearts series, all reduced to varying degrees.
That’s a potentially hefty amount of backlog hours you can add, and it barely scratches the surface.
