During today’s PC Gaming Show Most Wanted showcase, publisher and developer Cyber Temple has announced that its debut survival city builder, Darkswitch, has locked down its release date to March 12, 2026.
Darswitch’s release date news was accompanied by a brand new trailer that offers a good look at its world and the mysterious fog that acts as its terrifying primary antagonist.
Darkswitch Release Date
When Darkswitch’s release date occurs, we’ll get to take control of a treetop city built high above a lethal fog that spread across the land, consuming all in its wake.
We’ll get to develop this last bastion of civilization, managing scarce resources and population while completing a variety of story-driven quests.
Perilous, time-sensitive expeditions, see brave citizens venturing into the fog to recover valuable artifacts and understand this strange phenomenon that left its mark on the world.
Industrial, social, and defensive buildings help keep things going while new technologies pave the way to specialized machinery that increases our chances of survival. Space is, however, limited, so we’ll need to carefully decide when and where to place down structures.
Although Darkswitch’s treetop city provides a safe harbor, it doesn’t put us completely out of harm’s way. Dynamic fog surges test our defenses, throwing monstrous creatures, spectral or otherwise, our way.
Establishing fortified positions and providing light sources goes a long way to ensuring our citizens survive these attacks but, sooner rather than later, we’ll inevitably have to make difficult choices.
The soundtrack, composed by Silent Hill’s Akira Yamaoka, further contributes to the title’s dark atmosphere.
Darkswitch is slated to release on PC, via Steam, on March 12. If your interest is already piqued, its two-hour prologue is currently available via a free demo.
