The horror game is now out on PC, letting players help Ethan Winters escape the seductive clutches of Lady Dimitrescu and journey beyond her castle. While the vanilla game is horrifying enough, its best mods introduce some changes that will inevitable surprise fans, including one particularly infamous tank engine mod that’s possibly its most unsettling appearance yet from the wonderful modding community.
Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters didn’t escape the game’s modders and neither did Chris Redfield’s stern incarnation. Some of the best Resident Evil Village mods on our list actually date from the times of the game’s demo, showing how dedicated its modding community is.

Fluffy Mod Manager
The Fluffy Mod Manager is pretty much required for most of the game’s mods but has the advantage of also neatly organizing them for you. It’s a great tool that lets you pick and choose which ones you want for your current session and you can get it from Nexus Mods.
Banana Gun and Spoon Knife
Resident Evil Village promises a dramatic story told as Ethan Ventures across dreary locales, facing death at every corner. Sadly, there’s not a lot for banana enthusiasts in that description, which is why modder EvilLord took it upon themselves to replace Ethan’s handgun with the yellow fruit and his knife with a spoon. Replace the Armors with Alcina Dimitrescu
If one tall vampire lady isn’t enough for you, another mod lets you replace the armored knight statues with some of Lady Dimitrescu herself. Grab it from Nexus Mods.
Countess Theodora
We’re still having nightmares because of this one, but it wouldn’t be a list of the best Resident Evil mods without it. Modder Crazy Potato replaced Lady Dimitrescu’s head with that of Thomas the Tank Engine, giving us the googly-eyed monstrosity you can see above. Fly Swatters
Another of the best Resident Evil Village mods replaces Ethan’s knife with a Fly Swatter that looks fit to eradicate the pesky insects orbiting them. It may, not hold up that well against their sickles, but at least it comes in several colors. Nexus Mods.
Daughters Flies Removal
You can also now remove the flies that constantly orbit the three daughters. The insect’s annoying nature transcends all mediums and, without them, you get a better look at the sisters’ awesome character models. Grab the mod from Nexus Mods.
Cassandra Playable
Ethan Winters counts among the newer characters unlucky enough to be involved in Resident Evil Village, but if you’d rather let him take a break from dealing with nasty bioweapons, one of the best Resident Evil Village mods lets you replace him with Cassandra. The gameplay doesn’t change much, but you get to wear a cool hood that may sometimes block you from seeing stuff. Find it on Nexus Mods.
Daughters of YorHa
This mod enables you to have Lady Dimitrescu’s daughter dressed up as bloodthirsty versions of Nier: Automata’s 2B. The dresses come in both and white variants, and you can also choose whether or not the daughters wear visors. Optionally, you can also replace their sickles with the Virtuous Contract katana. Mini Me Chris/Baby Over Chris Face
These are actually two separate mods but use the same concept, swapping the heads of Chris and Rose, with some rather unsettling results. The latter in particular makes us want to head straight back to House Beneviento. Both are available on Nexus Mods, here and here.
More Melee Weapons
As underwhelming as its damage is, Ethan’s knife is a useful tool when you’re out of ammo or looking to conserve some for an upcoming boss fight. But it’s a bit of a shame that there’s no way to pick up the melee weapons dropped by all the enemies you kill. Modder MadMax has addressed this issue, to some extent, with the More Melee Weapons mod, which lets you replace the knife’s model with those of other death-dealing tools that the player can hold. These include the halberd, that one knife in Dimitrescu Castle, Heisenberg’s hammer, and more. Grab it from Nexus Mods.
Donna Restored
Donna Beneviento’s face is covered for the entirety of Resident Evil Village and only seen in a few paintings on the walls of her house. She’s the only lord given this treatment and, while it does come with an aura of mystery, players who’d rather see her face as they go through her twisted home can now turn to the Donna Restored mod.
