Publisher Sega and developer Creative Assembly announced during today’s Total War 25th Anniversary Showcase that Warhammer 3’s long-rumored Lords of the End Times DLC is officially set to release at some point in summer 2026.
The DLC introduces “ultimate necromancer” Nagash as a playable legendary lord alongside three other characters and a brand new free legendary lord.
Total War: Warhammer 3 - Lords of the End Times DLC Announced
Described as a “figure above politics and mortal concerns,” Nagash brings his own unique spell lore inspired by the tabletop, and can summon his nine Mortarchs – key members of other undead factions like Arkhan the Black – by luring them from their factions, uniting undead and vampire forces.
Nagash, thus, enters the fray as a faction in its own right, awakening the Black Pyramid, which we “witness and command” around the world.
When characters become Mortarchs, they obtain new abilities, including Dread Abyssals to ride. All nine will be depicted in Total War: Warhammer III - Lords of the End Times DLC, which also brings us the Khemric Titan, a colossal scarab construct as a new unit.
When the Lords of the End Times DLC releases, we’ll be able to “reshape the very fabric of the campaign map” through our choices, turning lush meadows into volcanic hellscapes and scarring terrain with craters.
The DLC also brings “epic new battle maps,” some of which may revolve around the four Chaos Gods’ domains.
Most importantly, perhaps, the developer has confirmed that, while Total War: Warhammer III - Lords of the End Times DLC brings the apocalypse, it is “absolutely not the end” of content for the trilogy closer.
More details will be shared over the coming months and it will be interesting to learn what else Creative Assembly plans to pack into Warhammer III’s biggest DLC yet.
