Publisher Sega and developer Creative Assembly are gearing up for Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase and have shared details about when and where we can watch the special video presentation.
Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase is described as a “milestone event [that] will welcome exciting new projects across historical and fantasy Total War, offering a first look at what’s been in development behind the scenes.” If you’re wondering where we’re headed to next after Warhammer 3 is done and dusted, chances are you’ll want to tune in.
Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase Timing
But when and where can you watch Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase? The video presentation will air on Thursday, December 4 at 8 AM PST/11 AM EST/4 PM GMT on both the official Total War YouTube and Twitch channels. The event will also be co-streamed.
Sega and Creative Assembly have remained relatively tight-lipped about what exactly will be unveiled during the event. In fact, we also don’t really know how long it will run for.
Earlier in June, it was confirmed that we’ll learn more about “new games that you can expect to play in the near and distant future,” so there’s something for both historical and fantasy fans.
Lately, rumors have brought up a potential Warhammer 40K-themed Total War game – which would be a no-brainer following the Total War: Warhammer trilogy’s success – but a supposed Star Wars game was also mentioned.
Over on the historical side of things, a large part of the fanbase is craving a Medieval 3 announcement, although claims were made in the past about a potential World War I Total War being in development.
These remain unconfirmed but, thankfully, we only have a few more days to wait until Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase officially sheds light on where the series is heading to next.
Even if you don’t count the resounding cancellation of Hyenas, Creative Assembly has had a rough last couple of years. Warhammer III had a hard time finding its footing while Total War: Pharaoh saw its price lowered mere months after release, despite being marketed as a major historical entry.
Hopefully, Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase marks a turning point for both historical and fantasy fans of the series.
