Following our hands-on time with Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, a new tactical roguelite built around turns and narrative events, we were curious about how long it’d take for developer Alt Shift and publisher Dotemu to show off more of its systems publicly. Well, the wait is over. A two-minute gameplay trailer is here.
This second trailer is a “deep dive” of sorts into the gameplay loop players will encounter when they jump into the game and are tasked with leading a fleet to safety as human refugees try to escape the Cylons and reach the legendary Battlestar Galactica. During our preview time with the game, we found it to be a rather fascinating mix of decision-making under pressure, management, and brisk tactical battles. You can watch the new trailer below:
“Each run in Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes offers new lessons as you adapt to defy your unlikely odds of survival, and your tactical options broaden as you unlock additional squadrons, weapons and traits as well as meta upgrades to benefit future runs. Make decisions that meaningfully alter your fleet’s fate, lead your fighters through high-risk battles, and jump to new sectors before the Cylons turn your ships into astral debris. With humanity’s haven in the Twelve Colonies now uninhabitable, your steadfast tactical leadership is your crew’s only hope of surviving the journey to humankind’s last hope, the Battlestar Galactica. So say we all.”
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s currently targeting Q1 2026. No console versions have been announced at the time of writing. It’ll launch directly into 1.0 on Steam.
