Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Words of Vengeance is one of several surprises coming out of the Warhammer Skulls 2025 showcase, reimagining Auroch Digital’s awesome boomer shooter as an equally violent game that, this time around, revolves around typing.
Instead of directly pulling the trigger of a growing arsenal of devastating weaponry, our keyboard and typing skills become the main tools of defeating the enemies of mankind, the count of words-per-minute becomes our ammo.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Words of Vengeance Announcement
Despite shifting away from high-caliber weaponry, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Words of Vengeance retains some of the original game’s brutality, showering our screens in “explosion of sprites, pixels and blood” as we type the words it demands of us.
Described as a first-person typer, the title is entirely free-to-play, its publisher stressing that it is free of in-game monetization methods.
If you can picture playing as a Space Marine without wielding your trusty bolter, you can download it now on PC through Steam.
In addition to Words of Vengeance, Auroch Digital also announced during the Warhammer Skulls 2025 showcase that it has partnered with Devolver Digital’s Big Fan publishing label for the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, a proper sequel that has plenty of guns.
