Publisher and developer Fatshark today announced that Tertium Prime is about to get a lot rowdier with the arrival of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s Hive Scum class DLC, which has locked in its release date to early December.
A screaming maniacal killer hailing from the planet’s criminal depths is about as good a holiday gift as one can expect from 40K, and Darktide’s Hive Scum class certainly doesn’t disappoint.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Hive Scum Class DLC Release Date
It aims to leave a mark as it enters the fray equipped with “concoctions of a more dubious” that offer access to a “signature customizable Stimm,” through which we can balance various bonuses, drench weapons in toxic coatings, and use chem bombs to more efficiently eliminate foes.
Most notably, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s Hive Scum Class DLC promises to deliver “true dual‑wield expertise,” marking a first for the co-op shooter/slasher.
Not only can its newest playable misfit wield melee weaponry such as “crude shivs, brutal crowbars [and] cruel saws”, but it also uses dual autopistols and stub pistols to fill foes with a barrage of lead, softening them up before getting up close and personal.
Darktide’s Hive Scum class comes equipped with its own dedicated talent tree that enables us to tap into different playstyles. We can opt to play as a “hyper‑aggressive hybrid fighter,” but also “specialize in ranged firepower with explosives and toxins; dart in and bail before the heretics fight back as a glass‑jawed bruiser - or carve your own path anywhere in between.”
In addition, the class can also make use of Blind Grenades for crowd control and missile launchers for more brutal, direct flavor of violence.
As far as customization goes, we can expect “full‑body tattoos, gritty hairstyles, and […] first-ever face paints,” alongside six distinct voice sets across three personalities.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s Hive Scum Class has locked in its release date to December 2, 2025, when it becomes available for the price of $11.99/€11.99 or your regional equivalent. You can wishlist it now on Steam and check out its announcement trailer below.
