Shelter is one of XCOM: Chimera Squad’s 11 distinct playable Agents. Where some of his peers bring plenty of offensive power, he chooses to use his Psion abilities in a more defensive fashion.
Aside from disorienting opponents, Shelter mainly specializes in timeline manipulation. Our XCOM: Chimera Squad Shelter guide aims to give you a better sense of what the human Psion can do.
XCOM: Chimera Squad Shelter Guide
Every character in XCOM: Chimera Squad has its own set of stats and Shelter is no different. Here’s what you get should you pick him for your missions:
- Health: 9
- Mobility: 10
- Aim: 75
- Will: 60
- Dodge: 0
- Crit: 15
- PSI: 60
Shelter’s first ability, Relocate, lets him psionically swap position with the enemy or ally he’s targeting. Not only is it useful for pulling enemies out of cover and placing them in your allies’ line of fire but using this ability doesn’t automatically end your turn.
Dazzle, unlocked at Deputy Agent rank, can only be used once per mission and sees Shelter launching a Psionic Blast capable of disorientating all enemies near its landing spot. The enemy targeted by Dazzle gets disorientated for an extra turn.
Shelter can also use the Soulfire ability which deals psionic damage. At later ranks, it can be upgraded to also heal him while unlocking its last rank gives him the ability to create a clone of himself.
The clone acts as another combatant and is useful for distracting opponents and drawing fire away from more important targets.
As using your turn to damage and incapacitate opponents is more efficient than manipulating and changing the order in which units act, Shelter might not be a top pick when you’re building your team for XCOM: Chimera Squad’s various missions.
Nevertheless, if you do decide to use him, our XCOM: Chimera Squad Shelter guide hopefully helped with giving you a better understanding of what he can do.
