Ubisoft is allowing free Roman strategy, as Anno 117: Pax Romana gets a free to play weekend.
The strategy game will be free on Ubisoft Connect, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S from Thursday, February 26, 2026, to Monday, March 2, 2026.
Anno 117: Pax Romana Free Weekend Offers Deep Dive Into Historical Strategy
In Anno 117: Pax Romana, you play as a newly appointed governor tasked with expanding Rome’s influence. You’ll create intricate production chains, research new technologies, patronise powerful deities, and construct monuments to rival Rome itself - all while deciding whether to rule through diplomacy or military might.
You’ll also venture into the Celtic marshes of Albion, where you must choose between preserving local traditions or enforcing Roman rule in your new settlement.
The free weekend also includes two new Twitch drops that start on the same day as the free weekend and run until March 12, 2026.
Recently, Anno 117: Pax Romana’s Year 1 Pass got an unconventional roadmap video, detailing what’s coming to the game in future updates and DLC packs. The live-action trailer features a cast discussing online speculation about updates and confirms what we’ll have to look forward to.
