There are many co-op video games set in outer space worth checking out, but few place heavy emphasis on the narrative. With Young Suns, KO_OP aims to change that. Here’s everything we know about this new space life sim.
Even though Young Suns has only started its preview/early access journey, it’s already shaping up to be one of the most unique takes on co-op games in a while. It’s been designed with short play sessions in mind and follows a simple yet sadly rare premise: making life better for everyone.
Young Suns Release Date
Young Suns has just been announced, but the first surprise is that it’s already out… sort of. While the full launch might take a while to arrive, players can already jump into its relaxed and cozy adventures!
- Young Suns release date: November 26, 2025
Young Suns Story
Despite its narrative-oriented angle, Young Suns doesn’t have (at least at this stage) much of a central story. This could be changing soon, however, as the shared roadmap is teasing unique story quests.
For now, the setup is the people of Jupiter “are newly free” and have just entrusted you and your friends with ships to help make the world better for society as a whole. Of course, this leads to many adventures and open-ended exploration, but expect to develop lasting relationships with its cast of characters too.
Young Suns Gameplay
Whether you visit abandoned stations, planetoids, or asteroids, Young Suns is all about completing simple tasks and finding useful items as you help develop a society that seeks to thrive in peace. Of course, your ship is also your home, and that means getting to customize it.
Young Suns can be enjoyed in co-op with up to 4 players or alone, as it’s designed to be enjoyed at your own pace and without stressful content or time restrictions. Right now, the core gameplay loop is on the simpler side, but developer and publisher KO_OP has ambitious plans for the game.
Young Suns Price and Platforms
At the time of writing, Young Suns is selling for $19.99, but like with most early access games, we’re expecting that price tag to go up once it hits full release.
Young Suns is already available to play on Xbox One & Series X/S as well as PC (Xbox app); a Steam release is coming soon. Game Pass subscribers can also access the game as part of Xbox’s ongoing “game preview” program.
Young Suns Trailers
Two trailers for Young Suns were released as it shadow-dropped via Xbox Game Preview. They’re a launch trailer and a lengthier developer presentation. You can watch them both here:
