Publisher Dotemu and Pharaoh: A New Era developer Triskell Interactive have unveiled Theos: Cities of Myth as their brand new Ancient Greece-themed city builder. Described as “a modern homage to the greatest city builders released in the aughts,” it puts us at the helm of designing and managing a settlement that grows into a sprawling metropolis while also being mindful of our chosen deity’s wishes.
Each city in Theos is dedicated to one of seven Greek gods. Whether Athena, Mars, Zeus, or one of the other potential picks, fulfilling their desires by building specific structures or completing specific actions rewards useful “boons, special heroes, and renowned figures.”

Conversely, failing to satisfy your chosen deity has serious repercussions. A city that loses its god’s favor cannot prosper, but neither can one that doesn’t ensure its citizens have access to food, housing, culture, and entertainment.
It sounds like we’ll have plenty to manage when Theos: Cities of Myth releases. According to its publisher, the title “offers dozens of hours of fun across its scenarios, missions and richly malleable sandbox mode, all hosted within a gorgeously realized, mythologically inspired vision of ancient Greece.”
The building tools Triskell Interactive developed for the rebooted Pharaoh: A New Era also returns, aiming to ease newcomers into the genre, while the title’s cartoonish, colorful art style further contributes to making it an approachable city builder.
Furthermore, Theos also tasks us with raising an army to protect our citizens from belligerent neighbors or conquer their cities in real-time battles.
