Fighting to save the planet you live in is such a heroic act from soldiers who put their own lives on the line
Fighting to save the planet you live in is such a heroic act from soldiers who put their own lives on the line. This heroism however can be fatal when betrayal comes into play. This is so for normal soldiers, I never knew this can happen even to genetically engineered super soldiers. Betrayal by the very person who brought them in the battlefield killed Rogue’s comrades.
A genetically engineered super soldier fights his enemies with the help of his three dead comrades
Bagman whose biochip lives in Rogue’s backpack helps create ammos by collecting salvage parts from fallen enemies and allies
Killing them however did not stop Rogue’s team from pursuing their mission. As fast as they could, few seconds before Rogue’s teammates succumb to death, they entrusted their biochip, including their persona and expertise, to Rogue’s equipment. This, however, changed Rogue’s mission from saving the planet to avenging his fallen friends.
Rogue Trooper is based on a British comic book set in 2000AD. It is an action-packed game that lovers of the comic will surely enjoy. It may even earn a few more fans, if not double the base number.
Rogue Trooper is the story of Rogue, a G.I. or genetic infantry, cloned from human and designed to survive a chemically wasted planet, which they call “Nu Earth.” Rogue and his teammates are designed genetically to be immune to the toxic elements that are besetting their planet. They are thus the best group to go to battle to eliminate the Norts. They need to eliminate the Norts to save whatever is left of this inhabitable planet of theirs.
The game sets the stage for perpetual battle by dropping Rogue and his comrades Gunner, Bagman and Helm to the battlefield. All of them are GI’s from Southers out to kill the Norts. However, as they advance in pursuit of their mission, Rogue’s comrades fall one by one. To ensure success and with their minds and hearts still committed to their sworn duty, they offered their biochip to take part in the future battles to live in the equipment of their surviving teammate, Rogue. These biochips thus transfer the fallen soldiers’ personality and expertise to Rogue’s battle gear, his helmet, his backpack and his rifle.
Gunnar lived in the rifle being a weapon expert himself. Gunnar helps Rogue with unique firing and targeting functions. The rifle with Gunnar’s biochip may likewise act as a sentry gun with a built in sniper function upgraded with dual zoom system to ensure lacking the target in.
Helm who is a technology expert comes to life in Rogue’s helmet. As a result, Rogue’s helmet can hack computers, unlock doors and add power to the radar system. Helm can also project holographic image to act as decoy. This will help Rogue spot enemies by drawing enemy fire into the decoy.
Gunnar, the weapon expert living in Rogue’s rifle gave the rifle a unique characteristic by providing a built-in sniper function which has dual zoom system to help lock target in
Even from a distance, Rogue’s rifle is best suited to kill the enemies
Bagman, who is the group's supply man, gets another chance to be in the battlefield by having his biochip installed in Rogue’s backpack. Thus, Bagman can manufacture ammunitions, health packs and perform weapon upgrade by collecting salvage parts from fallen enemies, allies and machines scattered in the battlefield.
Because of the expertise and unique characteristics of his equipment added to Rogue’s deep desire to avenge his comrades, this action-packed gamed will keep you at the edge of your sit.
The run and gun action of this unique shooter game will prove to be an enjoyable experience.
As the key player living the loner life of Rogue, you may however need to manage challenges that unfold before you by tactically switching from the run and gun action, purchasing ammunitions and weapon, and keeping yourself alive. You may thus need a lot of salvage kill to ensure you will have enough points to load or change your weapon when you need it the most.
Because this is a fast-paced action, you need some strategies to keep up with the pacing by ensuring you will not waste your life by learning when to attack and when to crawl for cover.
Your equipment will be there to assist you all throughout. They have voices that give you tactical advice and special functions to help you get through.
Rogue Trooper is an enjoyable game, fast-paced and in the same time, gratifying because alone defeating your enemies will keep your heart pump thunderously.
Rogue Trooper has three versions, the PC version, the Xbox version and a play station version. You may also play this game alone offline or online with up to three other players all at the same time.
I am more of a fan of the PC version because it is easier to choose a weapon from the inventory because each one is assigned a number key. Rather than the play station version where you need to use the D pad to scroll from the list and press a button to confirm your selection. Given the exciting turn of events and the perpetual gun and run action, you may find it hard to maneuver picking up your weapon in the play station version.
Given this manageable shortcoming, whichever version you play, Rogue Trooper will prove to be fun-filled and a different experience for shooter game fans.
Rogue’s rifle likewise functions as a sentry gun fully automatic and can sensor enemies wherever in the battlefield
To keep yourself alive in this shooter game, you need to learn when to attack and when to crawl for cover
It may however be frustrating for some to play the game, which seems to be predictable and far too quick; this game remains to be such an enjoyable game to play alone or with your friends.

As a loner, I feel power bringing down my enemies with the gadgetry provided by my comrades. The action and the terrific concept of the game make my heart tremble, wish I had one of these gadgets and no one can put me down. I am also amazed by the graphics of the game, though it often slows me down while playing.
