As promised over a week ago, the Back to the Future pack is now available for Rocket League. The DLC pack was timed to coincide with Back to the Future Day, 21 October 2015, which happened to be the day that Marty McFly arrived to the "future" in Back to the Future Part II.
Psyonix has announced that the Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC will feature two cars from Rocket League's predecessor Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, the Zippy and Scarab cars.
Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced that on the very day that Marty McFly traveled to in Back to the Future, Part II, 21 October 2015, the time-traveling DeLorean will officially be one of the playable Battle-Cars in the futuristic footie game.
Psyonix is cooking up some free DLC to celebrate Halloween later this month, consisting of a bunch of customisation options for your Rocket League cars. "Available as post-match item drops, each Halloween item can be unlocked simply by playing matches like you normally would (win or lose!)," explains the team. "Once you've found an item, it's yours to keep forever, but if you don't find the ones you want by November 2, you'll have to wait until next year for a shot at them again."
Major videogame brick-and-mortar retailers GAME UK, GameStop, EB Games, and Valve have announced that the stores will be including special "Steam Sections" dedicated to selling Valve's upcoming hardware coming 10th November 2015. The hardware will include the Steam Controller, Steam Link, and Steam Machines. The sections will of course also include a variety of Steam prepaid cards, which most stores already sell.
Rocket League received a pretty hefty update earlier this month which added the first season of ranked play to Psyonix' addictive car football game, and more new content is on the way. Revenge of the Battle-Cars, which sounds like the greatest 1980's action movie that was never made, adds two new cars as well as tonnes of new decals and items to decorate your chosen vehicle with.
Patch 1.05 for Rocket League has gone live today, introducing an option for PC players to filter out PS4 players in multiplayer match-ups, multiple improvements and adjustments to the Utopia Coliseum arena, and the introduction of Season One Ranked play. It's by no means a colossal update, but those who want a more competitive experience from the car football game will be happy to see new Ranked Season Divisions with post-Season Division placement rewards.
Psyonix announced yesterday that Patch 1.05 for Rocket League will be ready “in two weeks or less”, and the team has also laid out what it's bringing to the game. There are a few nice convenience features; at the end of Ranked Matches you'll now be able to search for another ranked game (that maybe should have been there from the start), while PC players can now filter out PS4 players when searching for a match.
Rocket League made its name via the PS Plus free game initiative, but don't think it's just a one hit wonder that got lucky – the car football hit has now racked up 1 million sales on Steam. Developer Psyonix is understandably pretty happy with that, and to celebrate it's holding a 10% off sale for the next forty-eight hours.
Update 1.04 is now live for addictive car-football game Rocket League, and it brings with it a number of fixes and tweaks, including the ability to vote for a match forfeit if everyone leaves halfway through a game.

It'll drop alongside a free update that will add a Spectator Mode, alongside the usual bunch of fixes and tweaks. The Supersonic Fury DLC will set you back $3.99/ €3.99, and adds two new vehicles; the Dominus, which looks like a typical American muscle car, and Takumi, a jazzed-up Japanese street racer.
I have a confession to make; I am hooked on Rocket League. Psyonix' ferociously addictive car-football game isn't without its bugs, though, and the developer is planning to release a patch shortly that will iron some of them out.
