Eidos Montreal has stopped work on a third unannounced project based on a new IP, according to sources. The Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Thief dev may have been working with Square Enix Japan. This report follows shortly after Square mentioned that Eidos could perhaps one day take on Final Fantasy. Currently Eidos Montreal is working Thief and a new Deus Ex.
Cloud gaming isn't really what it should be, says Square Enix's Jacob Navok, director of business development. All that's happening right now are companies just "putting a console in the data center," and streaming. Square believe game design itself should be shifting with the Cloud, not just a shift in distribution. This is where Project Flare enters the scene, which promises "new ways of interacting with content".

Square Enix is releasing their mobile game Deus Ex: The Fall for PC, with all in-game purchases purged and numerous updates to bring it up-to-code for a desktop release. The Steam version is out March 25th. The Fall follows events directly after the novel The Icarus Effect. Former SAS man Ben Saxon is on the warpath to uncover the conspiracy behind human augmentation. The Fall is priced at £7.99.
Square Enix are releasing N-Fusion and Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex: The Fall ahead of schedule. The new date for the stealth action RPG is one week earlier on March 18th, as opposed to March 25th. Square Enix has today launched the once mobile-exclusive Deus Ex: The Fall for PC, which was collaboration between Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Eidos Montreal and N-Fusion. It's £7.99 / €9.99 / $9.99. The Fall is set in 2027 and we play as Ben Saxon, a former British SAS Mercenary betrayer by his employers. He wants to uncover the drug conspiracy behind human augmentation.
Back in December a teasing one minute long trailer for a Deus Ex short film released, but now the finished article is out punching through walls and rifling desks for credits. It's over 12 minutes long. It's a fan-made project and uses special effects to bring this live-action Human Revolution to life. It features Adam Jensen, assassin Yelena Fedorova and scientist Megan Reed.
A European trademark for 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' has been spotted and was filed by Square Enix back on March 14th. It covers all spectrums with 'computer software' and 'video games' being repeatedly mentioned. Eidos Montreal are putting all their Deus Ex efforts under the single umbrella of 'Deus Ex: Universe', which is to encompass all future and connected experiences. A casting call was found last week.
According to an industry insider, this year's E3 in California will be hosting Square Enix and Eidos Montreal's new Deus Ex, which is in the works as a next-gen title. Also present will be BioWare's new Mass Effect. Ahsan Rasheed confirmed it won't be called Mass Effect 4, something BioWare said previously, but will be subtitled. He's also heard rumblings about Microsoft's plans.
