Great news from Activision Blizzard's Q4 fiscal call as Blizzard is confirmed to be unleashing at least two videogames by the end of next year. So providing the world doesn't abruptly end (thanks Mayan 'scientists'), we could be playing something like Diablo III or StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm.

'World of StarCraft' mod renamed News

Ryan Winzen put together a little StarCraft 2 mod called 'World of StarCraft' which then caused a small ruckus with Activision Blizzard over copyright. However there's good news because the mod still lives but under its new name of 'StarCraft Universe'. This fan-made 'MMORPG' sticks to 12-players max.

CEO Mike Morhaime of Blizzard has affirmed that his studio aren't developing some World of Warcraft sequel with their super secret project Titan MMO. Blizzard has tasked "some of our most experienced" devs from WoW on this new project, and they're "really trying to leverage all the lessons" learned.

Blizzard "struggling" with Battle.net Marketplace News

StarCraft II lead designer Dustin Browder isn't sure if the Battle.net Marketplace will see the light of day as he admits that Blizzard are "struggling" with it. "As you can imagine there is an immense number of challenges for us to overcome," he told Eurogamer. "We're trying to deal with those issues. I don't know how we're going to solve some of the player rights issues. How do players protect their own maps so they don't get ripped off by other players? What are the rules of how much you're allowed to charge? There's just a ton of work for us to figure out. "

The latest 1.30 patch for Starcraft II has been released, and is being met with anger from fans, as it nerfs all three races. Some of the lowlights pointed out is an increase in stimpack research time, the removal of the High Templar Khaydarin Amulet upgrade, and a decrease in Infestor Fungal Growth stun duration, to name a few.

The Blizzard development plate is already heavy with Diablo III, StarCraft II and their new 'Titan' MMO, but they've obviously got a side-dish or two spare. The veteran PC studio outfit wants a software engineer for their "newest game team". It doesn't appear linked to 'Titan' as it's under a different category.

Starcraft fans are mumbling, "It's about frickin' time" as Blizzard has announced that the first preview and demonstration of Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, the standalone expansion that will feature the Zerg campaign, will be shown off in May.

Blizzard will have playable builds of both Diablo III and StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm at Gamescom next month as it kicks off in Cologne, Germany. World of Warcraft will also be in attendance along with "exhibition matches, live raids, competitions and other attractions" hosted by Blizzard.

StarCraft II Beta Patch 1.35 available News

Battle.net has announced that patch 1.35 is now available to download from the Public Test Realm for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. This minor patch contains several minor interface changes as well as a sneak preview of Season 3 ladder maps. The editor has also been given a few improvements too.
