It's a painfully teasing treat for Grand Theft Auto fans as Rockstar North has published 10 new screenshots from GTA V. They range from some scenic shots to high octane car chases with coppers. There's diving, skydiving and even a minigun. Grand Theft Auto V was delayed from spring 2013 to this September after Rockstar secured more time for their return to Los Santos.
Grand Theft Auto V's box-art is slowly being revealed in New York. Rockstar isn't holding a fancy event for the unveiling: it's painting the design straight onto New York's city walls.
Fancy a blast of nostalgia in the ears? Rockstar Games has gone ahead and "compiled the official set of playlists" for the Grand Theft Auto series, including Chinatown Wars. Some tracks are missing however. Only music already available via the two services are included in the playlists, but Rockstar hope to "add the original songs" created for the games. Three new trailers for Grand Theft Auto 5 are almost here as Rockstar Games post a teasing image with "Michael. Franklin. Trevor." - the game's lead protagonists - stamped above '4.30', meaning April 30th. It's been quite a while since a new trailer for the next GTA has been released, although the studio has drip-fed a number of in-game shots. Grand Theft Auto 5 is due this September 17th.
It seems that 2K Games won't have a booth this year at E3, according to the publisher on its official blog.

Kifflom! Rockstar Games has announced they're on the prowl for lucky fans to be cast as "one of five Epsilon Program members" we'll be interacting with in Grand Theft Auto 5. They want to capture your looks. For those interested you'd better sign-up for the Epsilon Program Enlightenment Seminar if you "want to be happy and free from thought". You fill out a little form including a link to a photo.
Rockstar has released not one but three new trailers for Grand Theft Auto V, each one showcasing one of the protagonists of the game, including Michael, who is a direct reference to The Sopranos, Franklin, who is straight outta Compton, and Trevor, who is merely axe crazy.
It would appear that the PSOne Classics catalogue is about to get even more retro as the original Grand Theft Auto and the sci-fi follow-up Grand Theft Auto 2 have been spotted on the ESRB database. They've given them a listing for PlayStation 3, PS Vita and PSP meaning it'll be going through PlayStation Network. It's unclear if the London expansion is included with GTA or not.
Rockstar has only announced Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox 360 and PS3, with fans desperately hoping for a PC version too. Germany's Amazon and GamesOnly.at both list it for PC. Interestingly GamesOnly.at also mentioned a 'Special Edition', which included a SteelBook with "exclusive artwork", a world map, stunt-planes challenges, bonus outfits and more.
Take 2 has announced that the publisher earned $1.222B for the fiscal year 2013 ending on the 31st March, crediting such titles as BioShock Infinite, MLB 2K13, and Borderlands 2 downloadable content as the chief source, while older titles also drove sales.
Take-Two has revealed they have no plans to be on the show floor this year at E3, saying that both they and Rockstar Games will instead "focus their marketing and PR" on a series of events throughout 2013. It's not surprising as Rockstar has favoured other more intimate events outside of E3, given the enormous maelstrom of titles competing for attention. Take-Two still regard E3 as a "great place".
A fresh new screen of Grand Theft Auto V has been released from the clutches of the Rockstar Games' marketing department. In this one we see scuba diving backed by an underwater submersible. It almost looks like a wreck of some kind in the background, which are meant to be explorable and possibly plunderable, tease Rockstar. The official website has updated their gallery.
In a Rockstar Newswire post talking about the new Crews system they introduced with Max Payne 3, the studio teases in their opening line that "first info" about GTA V online is due out soon for fans to digest. They say a whole slew of Crews are "rallying, preparing and raring to go" with some interesting emblems. Rockstar has said that Crews would 'carry over' into GTA V.
Developer Rockstar Games has announced the full details surrounding those retailer leaked glimpses of a Collector's Edition for Grand Theft Auto V, as well as a smaller Special Edition. They've also got a secret weapon at their disposal for all pre-orders of the game; you unlock access to pilot the Atomic Blimp seen floating above Los Santos. Take. Our. Money. Now.
Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two isn't all that concerned by Grand Theft Auto V being only for the current generation of consoles, despite what some analysts believe. Sales will be extremely robust says the CEO. It's the "most highly anticipated" of their biggest franchise, with an "excess of 120 million" making up the current gen install base, so they're expecting nothing short of "enormous consumer demand".
In a 'Asked & Answered' session through the Rockstar Games Newswire, the studio has confirmed that both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the "largest and most ambitious" GTA ever will require mandatory installs. The Xbox 360 comes in two discs, as opposed to PS3's single Blu-ray, and will need either HDD or USB memory. The first Xbox 360 disc is for installation only, the second is to play the game.
Xbox One and PS4 are on their way, but PC has been standing by forever. Are Rockstar any closer to announcing that inevitable PC version of GTA V? No. They "don't have anything to share" about that. The team is "completely focused" on Xbox 360 and PS3 development. The good news at least is that the "first Official Gameplay Video is on its way" to us soon. No surprise delays planned.
Two more artworks have been released by Rockstar Games to mark the 4th of July holiday in the States. The first is of Franklin's buddy Lamar out about town 'shopping' for a car... on someone's driveway. The second is Michael's son Jimmy respectfully informing his sister Tracey he's not to be disturbed whilst gaming. Both artworks are available in various sizes for fans to enjoy.
